YHS Automotive Service Center in Katy, Texas specializes in Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus. At YHS, your vehicle is serviced and repaired with quality parts and by experienced, certified mechanics. We believe in honesty, integrity and old-fashioned service.
The YHS team includes three master technicians with more than 45 years of combined experience. We use Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus factory parts, or in some cases with customer approval, high-quality aftermarket parts. We provide service that rivals or betters that performed in a dealership, but often at a lower cost.
We are good listeners when customers come in with issues on their vehicles and we are skilled at identifying the areas of concern. Our customers value the service they receive, trust the mechanics and drive away with the confidence that their vehicles were in good hands and they were treated fairly and with respect.
We will provide maintenance on your vehicle to keep your warranty specifications for less than you would likely pay at a dealership. YHS mechanics will also show the owner the area of the vehicle where the repair is to be conducted. We provide great value, excellent work and outstanding customer service for your car, truck or SUV.
YHS owner and operator Paul Garrett runs the shop with a team whose individual specialties complement each other.
Paul started turning wrenches when he was 12 years old. Motorcycles were his first passion and he would take on discarded bikes or those otherwise in disrepair as projects. He retooled them into great condition and then sold them.
Paul followed his father’s footsteps and passion. At age 15, he was an integral part of a team that built two race cars and he worked in the pits. Shortly afterward, he attained an Associate’s Degree from the Arizona Automotive Institute, considered to be the best automotive tech school in the country at the time. After graduating in 1991, Paul worked for Bell Acura in Phoenix, and after moving to Houston in 1992, Paul worked for Spring Branch Honda.
This exposure within dealerships meant that from the outset of his automotive service and mechanical career, Paul received the highest level of factory training on a consistent basis. Ever since, he has worked on Hondas and Acuras. He’s carried a personal emphasis on continued training as an ASE Certified Master Technician from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence for more than 19 years.
In providing customer service, you will always find a clear and concise explanation of what work is needed or recommended on a vehicle and how much the labor and parts will cost.
Erik, also an ASE master certified technician, joined YHS in July 2015 and specializes in Toyotas, having previously worked at a Toyota dealership. Erik graduated from Texas State Technical College in Waco, TX and his education included two years in Toyota’s Technician Training & Education Network (T-TEN) program. At YHS, he has worked on various makes and models of Toyota, Lexus, Honda and Acura, and enjoys collaborating on problem solving for the customer. “It’s a team. We’re all one team here, thinking critically how to fix different problems,” he says. Erik enjoys showing the customer himself what repairs are needed rather than have a service writer separately inform a vehicle owner about recommended work. “Always sell honest work, that’s the one big thing.”
